Jerusalema, by South African DJ Master KG and vocalist Nomcebo Zikode, has become a truly global viral smash. The song has, in fact, been adapted from an old gospel hymn Jerusalem Ikhaya Lami (Jerusalem My Home). This version of the video was shot in Palestine with Palestinian dancers, in Jerusalem itself, Jenin, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and on the harbor wall in Gaza. It fuses traditional African (Cameroonian) dance movements with Palestinian folk dance (dabkeh).
